| Sea World - Aquarium Mission Bay (daily 9am–dusk). Killer whales, dolphins, hundreds of moray eels and sharks, and Arctic environments crowded with penguins, polar bears and walruses. $30.95. Balboa Park immediately north of the main museums. One of the world’s best, with a wide selection of animals, many rare, including the famous Chinese pandas. $15. Mission Bay (no scheduled hours). Raver-packed sands, scantily clad torsos and surfboard-clutching hunks: you’ll find them either intimidating or precisely what you came for. Presidio Hill, Seely Stable (daily 10am–5pm; 619/220-5422). Preserved adobe dwellings from the Spanish colonial days, including a couple of small museums and the inevitable souvenir shops. San Diego Museum of Art, Balboa Park (Tue–Sun 1.30–4.30pm; closed Sept). A pleasant, beautifully groomed garden that contains formidable works by famed sculptors Henry Moore and Alexander Calder. | ||||
