New Orleans -..The Big Easy..!

The attraction in New Orleans is naturally the French Quarter. Directly because of the Missisippi River been, forms it together with the Riverfront and for the central Business District the city centre New Orleans

Actually the French Quarter or Vieux Carrée is rather a Spanish Quarter, because when it was again structured after a fire end of the 18.JHD., New Orleans was in Spanish possession. However many style items were preserved the french time, or were restored. Particularly the wrought-iron, richly decorated balcony and arcade lattices in the first and second stick of the buildings. They form the typical appearance of the old part of town. Just as typically as the jazz, the fashion shops and galleries, souvenirshops as well as taverns and restaurants. And numerous tourists from all world provide for well filled checkouts. Driving essentially concentrates on the range between the Riverfront/Jackson Square and the Bourbon Street.

Which belongs to more and more near to New Orleans, than the jazz. Great names Louis Armstrong, Lionel Hampton... and..and..and are inseparably connected with New Orleans and its jazz.
For jazz fans a term is annual that anyway April/May taking place New Orleans Jazz - Festival. It is advisable to post for this period in time in advance an accommodation. The same applies naturally also with the other large event in New Orleans, to the Mardi grass.
An institution of the jazz in the French Quarter is still the Preservation Hall, close Bourbon Street. In a small meager space here every even concerts take place from 8.30pm to briefly firstclass jazz after midnight. Every now and then also once with an old star of the scene. For a seat it needs however something patience, because regularly are long queues before the close inlet.
In the old Absinth House in the Bourbon Street as well as in the Crescent city Brewhouse, 527 Decatur Street, gives it likewise to jazz to the freshly brewed beer. Live Jazz gives it also in the House of Blues, to 225 Decatur. Otherwise one finds music for each taste on the Bourbon Street sufficient taverns with Live -; even Karaokee here already held chute.
